Poor Canada. It’s tough trying to keep in the scandals race when your next door neighbour is the U.S. with its ethically-challenged leader Donald Trump. Perhaps that is one of the reasons why Canadian media sources feel the need to make such a fuss over even mild ethical issues here and to use each new issue as a springboard back to ethical controversies that occurred months or even years ago.

Winston Churchill is quoted as saying “Never let a good crisis go to waste,” and the COVID-19 crisis is certainly a doozy (to use a technical term that I learned when studying political science). But it has also opened the door to new ways of living that could transform our cities and greatly improve our quality of life – if we have the insight and the courage to embrace the changes.
