In modern times, they have been ably assisted by spin doctors (aka Communications Officers), creative wordsmiths skilled in the art of obfuscation.
It has been said that the first casualty in war is the truth, a statement first uttered at least 2500 years ago by the Greek dramatist Aeschylus. However, it is increasingly apparent that truth is also the first casualty in politics.

When first arriving in Myrtle Beach each winter, we spend several weeks just relaxing and doing as little as possible.
